Showings Go Better When Sellers Let Go

Showings Go Better When Sellers Let Go

When sellers remain present during showings, potential buyers often feel uncomfortable. Buyers rush through without asking questions, which can hinder sales. Sellers may share decades of property knowledge without knowing what buyers find important, discussing features like air conditioning or sunset views that may not be relevant.

Realtors must ask sellers questions and reassure them that useful information will be shared. Agents must ensure homes are vacant during showings while having answers to buyer questions. Vacant homes allow buyers to imagine the space as their own, vital for decision-making.

BUILD TRUST!

For sellers emotionally resistant to leaving, it’s important to let them discuss their feelings. Sellers often worry about property security during showings. This is why I attend all showings, ensuring doors remain locked and lights are turned off. I address concerns by including specific instructions in listings.

Sellers have numerous reasons for wanting to stay during showings, but I address their concerns while educating them about the buyer’s perspective. My recommendation is for sellers to be absent during showings. This helps them achieve their goal: receiving an offer.
